FERAL AT HEART MERCHANDISE AVAILABLE! WEAR OUR CAUSE, SUPPORT THE PAWS!
🐈⬛Step 1-
Talk to surrounding neighbors/workers/ businesses to find out a few things:
Does somebody own them?
are the cats friendly or feral?
how many are there? how many kittens, how many adults.
who is feeding them?
what time, where, and how often are they feeding them?
🐈⬛Step 2-
Scout the area:
Having an idea on numbers and their daily activity will help to make sure you aren’t leaving any cats behind, especially kittens.
🐈⬛Step 3-
If they are feral➡️ Call a clinic in advanced to make appointments for TNR and get some traps.
Visit my page on How To Get Started with TNR
OR:
➡️If the cats are friendly OR if they are kittens younger than 3-4 months, you can take them to animal control.
In Washoe County, Washoe County Regional Animal Services will hold all incoming animals for 5 days to allow for any owners to come forward. If not claimed, they are transferred next door the Nevada Humane Society, or other rescue partners to be fixed and placed for adoption.
Whatever you do, Please don't ignore them. Your help could be the difference of life and death, 5 cats turning into 30 cats, 30 cats turning into 60 cats.
Perhaps, your help is the reason why a cat is reunited back with its owners after it has been missing for a long period of time.
